I’ve been hooked onto J*ames B*lunt’s debut album, ‘Back to Bedlam’, for the last two days. His is a voice that’s definitely unique - I remember hearing DJ D*aniel O*ng saying, “I don’t understand why his name is Blunt when his voice is so sharp.” At some point it’s inevitable that he [...]

Beth wants Havaianas.

Busy busy

After tonight I’ll finally be able to cancel out CS331 individual portfolio, quickly finish up the CS333 advertisements, and then be able to knuckle down to mug for final exams.
We made baked apples last night, slathering sliced apples with butter, stewing them in a cranberry and raspberry and strawberry herbal infusion, and caramelizing it with [...]

The end of peace

Hall is a lot more fun on weekends when the guys downstairs are not around to yell obscenities at DOTA or waft cigarette smoke up to my room.
I hate cigarette smoke.

We used to blast this song in Camel’s car, roaring past people in the tiny Beetle and pumping out bhangra music like nobody’s business. I’ll never forget how you held my hand and called me ‘meri jaan’, that day. And I guess this song means more to us than ever, seeing how things [...]

Fish and chips

Had dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf just now, with Resh (kudos to Jess for showing me the place). I ordered the Atlantic cod, squeezed over with a juicy lemon and with side dressings of malt vinegar, curry mayo, tartare sauce, and honey mustard. Mmmm. Baby had the (inadequate) Danish meatballs with cranberry sauce; [...]

On the menu

Yesterday, we made a delectable meal. Cheese sausages fried in butter with white onion rings and golden mushrooms, drizzled with honey (actually, drenched in honey, after Bin stole the honey before I could catch her). Pasta with spicy tomato and herb sauce. Hot chicken soup with chicken chunks and noodles in it. [...]

An SMS from Mommy

“How’s things? Remembering you in my prayers.”
Little things like this remind me why I love my parents so, so much.
Praying for you too, Mom.

An email from Daddy

“finally, found your 21st b/d present here in Hawaii….wow!
dada”
Yay!
More than just looking forward to Daddy’s return next Wednesday, I’m now looking forward to receiving my belated 21st birthday present from him!
From Hawaii no less!
