Musings
Enter the Old City through the Dung Gate to visit the Wailing (or Western) Wall, and the Temple Area with the Al-Aksa Mosque and Dome of the Rock. Visit the City of David. See the Pool of Bethesda where the angel ruffled the water. Visit the Zion Sisters. Pass through the Stations of the Cross where Jesus carried his cross to br crucified. Leave the city through the bazaars to the west by Jaffa Gate. Time for a service at the Garden Tomb.

Musings
Drive to the Mount of Olives for a wonderful view of Jerusalem. See the Place of Ascension and the Pater Noster Church, and view the Palm Sunday road. At the foot of the hill see the Garden of Gethsemane with its ancient olive trees and the Church of All Nations. Drive down the Kidron Valley and see the Pool of Siloam, and St. Peter in Gallicantu, built over the palace of the High Priest Caiaphas. Continue south to Bethlehem and see the Church of the Nativity, and below it the cave-stable of Jesus’ birth. Return to Jerusalem

Musings
Proceed to Megiddo overlooking the Jezreel Valley and considered the Armageddon of the New Testament. Then to Mukhraka for a spectacular view of the northern region. Continue to Haifa and from Mount Carmel have a wonderful view of the area. Stop at Caesarea, once the capital of the Roman province, and see the harbour from which St. Paul was taken to Rome. Drive to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Visit Cana, scene of the first miracle and visit the Church of the Wedding. Then go to Nazareth and see the oldest Church of the Annunciation with Mary’s Well. Afterwards we visit Nazareth Village. This is an excavated village dating from around 1 AD. The excavations have carefully renovated the synagogue and houses to give a unique insight into village life and agriculture, as it would have been at the time of Jesus. Finally to your hotel in Tiberias overnight.

Head up the Golan Heights to the Springs of Banias, also known as Caesarea Philippi where Peter said “Thou are Christ”. Returning towards the Sea of Galilee we will visit Bethsaida where Jesus restored sight to a blind man and was the home town of Peter, Andrew and Philip.

Take the boat from Tiberias to Capernaum; there you will see an ancient synagogue and St. Peter’s house which was later converted into a church. Also by the shore you will visit Tabgha site of the miracle of the Loaves and Fishes. Continue to the Mount of Beatitudes where the Sermon on the Mount is remembered. St Peter’s Fish Lunch. Visit the Jordan River for the traditional baptism site of Jesus. Opportunity to renew your Baptism vows. Return to your hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Cross the Allenby bridge over the River Jordan and drive to Jericho, the oldest city in the world. Drive up through the Jordan Valley to visit Bet Shean, one of the cities of the Decapolis. Dinner and Overnight at Tiberias.

Travel down the Desert Road to Wadi Mousa outside “the rose – red city” of Petra which from 300 BC. was inhabited by Nabateans. Take a horse ride through the dramatic “ciq” or canyon. See the Treasury, carved in the pink stone, and continue past the Roman theatre, the Corinthian Tomb and Palace Tomb to the Roman road. If time permits, climb up to the High Place or the Deir or Monastery. Return via the desert highway to your hotel in Amman

Drive to Mt Nebo, from where Moses (Nebi Mousa) viewed the promised land and is buried. Continue to Madeba to see the mosaic of ancient Jerusalem. Continue to the fortress of Macherus, where Salome is reputed to have demanded from Herod the head of John the Baptist. Return to Amman for city tour including the Roman theatre and Museum.

Depart Singapore on QR639 for Doha at 0635 hours and arriving at 0950 hours in Doha. Transfer to QR400 at 1235 hours for Amman, arriving at 1450 hours in Amman. Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
