Jinxed

Jinx has replaced Snaptwist, and it’s a bit alarming how we Jinx all the time. Alarming, and a little bit weird, but also a little bit heartwarming.
I guess that’s why we get along.

All the colours of the rainbow
All the voices of the wind
Every dream that reaches out
That reaches out to
Find where love begins
Every word of every story
Every star in every sky
Every corner of creation
Lives to testify
For as long as I shall live
I will testify to love
I’ll be a witness in the silences
When words are not enough
With every [...]

Moonlight sonata

Something I fail to understand.
I don’t see how someone can demand a present that he or she is certain to like. Isn’t it my prerogative as gift-giver to find something I hope the receiver will like? Isn’t it rude for the receiver to say, in all dubiousness, “Huh. Are you sure I’ll [...]

Heaven must be missing an angel

I feel truly awful about this morning’s game. I’ve been missing practices and it really shows; I’ve never been a good softball player in the first place and having missed so many practices certainly doesn’t redeem me any. I just felt so completely inadequate and a total failure this morning. What a [...]

Words are not enough

Everybody watching knows he’s the one keeping score
From where she sits, everyone stands in judgement
People watching as the curtain falls down
Seein’ lights do a long slow fade…
The [...]

I’m it

Joel tagged me. Here’s five weird or random things about myself then.
1. I have a teensy weensy bladder.
2. I feel itchy when I’m poked.
3. I hate being poked.
4. I hate public speaking.
5. I trust my instincts.

Just for keeps

On the menu tonight: fresh tomatoes marinated in balsamic vinegar, olive oil and garlic; Mom’s famous chargrilled capsicums, fried chipolatas, pasta with bell peppers, zucchini, onions etc, mashed potatoes with vegetable gravy, and vegetable soup. For dessert, fresh berries covered in yoghurt and topped with shortbread.
I couldn’t shake off that incredibly bloated feeling for [...]

Mooved

Aaah. Second night of having my own room, but it’s sort of the first official night. Hanna’s room looks lovely now; Joel’s room is still a haphazard wreck and mine is still, uh, nearer wreck than lovely :/ She’s going off to camp though so I’ve still got plenty of time to finish up [...]
