5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
- Proverbs 3:5-6
“Are you going through a hard thing today? It may be discipline from the Lord to urge you to change something in your life. Or perhaps it is simply a divine stress test, planned for your greater endurance and character. Regardless of its specific cause, it is designed to shape you into His image, and it is monitored with great care - even delight - by the hand from which it comes. You would not be going through it if He did not care. You would not be in the painful process of conforming to His likeness if you were not His child. Cooperate with His work, whatever His tools are. He does not use them recklessly. He uses them as lovingly as a father touches his child.”

I feel like I’m in a ping-pong game - and I’m the ball.
I don’t like to be toyed with and I can’t stop myself from feeling a bit like that.
Why do I always let myself be torn up like this?

I have a new favorite author, and his name is Ethan Hawke.
Ying mentioned one of his books on her blog once long ago and I’d been interested then, but forgot to get my hands on them. Lately though after watching ‘Before Sunset’ and ‘Before Sunrise’, I’d remembered Ethan when I got to the library and picked up his first novel, ‘The Hottest State’.
It was breathtaking. I love his choice of words, the throaty angst and passion and love and despair in his book. Very emo (like me) but no no no, not in a boohoo-I-hate-love-slash-my-wrists type of way, thank God. I’m going to get ‘Ash Wednesday’ next, and if his second book is anything like his first, I’m in for a treat :)
I can just imagine him playing himself if this book became a movie, and Julie Delpy as Sarah. It’s set in New York and Paris, too, so it fits all the more.
I typed out a few of my favorite passages from ‘The Hottest State’. Enjoy. Some were slightly paraphrased so I wouldn’t kill myself typing the whole thing.
It was Wednesday night when we met, Saturday morning when I asked her if she wanted to move in, and by Sunday there were flowers in my apartment and female voices coming out of my stereo. I loved it.
I don’t remember waking up that Sunday morning - perhaps I never slept. I was just sitting up in bed watching Sarah sleep. She’d slept naked in my bed but she hadn’t let me have sex with her. I didn’t care. I loved watching her sleep. The light was falling through my window, all over the blue sheets of my old bed, and onto her face. I lifted up the sheets and watched her breasts move with her breath. They seemed to be sleeping themselves. I hoped that she wouldn’t wake up. I laid the sheet back over her, right up to her chin. I looked up and out at my room.
I thought, this must be what praying is like.

Let’s take a walk together near the ocean shore
Hand in hand you and I
Let’s cherish every moment we have been given
The time is passing by
I often pray before I lay down by your side
If you receive your calling before I awake
Could I make it through the night
Cherish the love we have
We should cherish the life we live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love
Cherish the love we have
For as long as we both shall live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love
The world is always changing
Nothing stays the same
But love will stand the test of time
The next life that we live in
Remains to be seen
Will you be by my side
I often pray before I lay down by your side
If you receive your calling before I awake
Could I make it through the night
Cherish the love we have
We should cherish the life we live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love
Cherish the love we have
For as long as we both shall live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love

Makes me wonder.
I got on the bus this morning and TVMobile was showing the games in Melbourne.
I walk to work, and I see a large sign proclaiming, “Travel to Australia for only $50 in March!”
I buy 8 Days, and they’ve included a “Travel to Melbourne” insert mini-magazine.
Sigh. You don’t have to tell me. I want to go.

I feel like I’m bouncing on air!
From being rather embarrassed by Arsenal and getting kicked out of the Champion’s League, it wasn’t so much a dark point for Liverpool as it was in the shady side, rather, and I was losing hope that we’d be able to pick up and charge into the top two of Champion’s League (Man Utd have two games in hand and we’re still two points behind). I just didn’t want to face the disappointment of more losses and the unexciting prospect of more close 1-0 wins.
And then this week happened. GOSH. Liverpool have scored FIFTEEN goals, that’s right FIFTEEN (count them!) GOALS in one week.
*silly grin*
First we kicked Fulham 5-1, then Newcastle with 3-1, and last night? We marched into the FA Cup final with seven goals against Birmingham (who scored none - well, unless you count that own goal that Tebily got :D).
Seven goals! Poor Birmingham. Pity Crouch didn’t get his hat trick though (goals by Hyppia, Crouch, Crouch, Morientes, Riise, Tebily og, Cisse). What a mauling! What power! The FA Cup could well be ours - small consolation for losing the Champion’s League but some silverware is better than none.
Keep it up Pool! Our strikers have finally found their form! I only hope they can do just as well against the biggies like Chelsea and Man Utd.

It’s hard to recapture moments.? Once past,
they flee into memory, which crackles and spits
and is generally untrustworthy; it whispers,
glosses over, embellishes and embroiders at will
until I can’t be sure that what I remember
actually happened - or did it??
So I can’t be sure
that I remember you; maybe all you were
was a passing
dream.
