I reached my 100th rated Scrabble game today! On the record I have played exactly 100 rated games with the Scrabble Association in Singapore yey! It’s way overdue because I took a year off playing local rated tourneys after the 2005 Mill Cup.

Today’s tourney was rather unexpected. My Sundays are ridiculously precious to me because I work Friday nights and Saturday afternoons and Sundays are sacred for sleeping in and church. Then I got a call this morning at 9.30am. I refuse to pick up when I see Michael’s number; also I’d lost my voice and could only croak. Undeterred, he texts me asking me to come down because they’re short a player.

By this time I’m feeling rather awake after having concussed the previous night at about 1am, so I decide, what the heck.

Mistake. I get there and spend the rest of the day sniffling into toilet paper and coughing. Played rubbish and did rather poorly by my own standards because I just couldn’t concentrate well for the first few games. Medicine kicked in around lunch so I felt better in the afternoon and my game improved subsequently as well as my mood.

Anyhow. Game stats for the inaugural Grandeur 8 mini tournament, kudos to Michael Tang for organizing.

Some interesting bingos: none. Sob. I left my tabulation at home so I can’t remember how many bingos I played. I am rather proud of non-bingo QUEAZY (79) but nothing else particularly sticks out at the moment. Bah.
Current rating: 1599. I mean! SERIOUSLY! I just can’t seem to crack the 1600 bar. I can’t! I can’t! I am forever destined to languish in B division!! :(
