Happy Hallowe’en!

Funny, my blog’s titled Sunshine Days, but it’s been nothing but rain lately.  Not that I’m complaining.  I love the rain.

Strolling along country roads with my baby

Sat down on my bed today then promptly jumped up with a squeal when my butt went through the bottom of the bed.

I kid you not.

My bed broke. Again. When I first moved into this room the previous occupant had also broken the bed. Just goes to show what a crappy bed it is. C’mon hall officer people! Give us better beds!

The strip of wood holding up the wooden slats broke off the side. The wood chipped off and the screws came loose…

Those bits on the floor are wood chips! And that dangly bit of wood at the side is the strip that came loose.

I need a new bed. Keppel better come fix it by tonight or I’ll have to sleep on the floor :(

Realized that quite a few comments especially from tscd and Shyam invariably get caught in my spam filter.

I’m guessing you guys are posting from work computers with a shared IP address but I’m not sure why that would trigger it either.

I know my mommy loves me because she cooks me all my favorite foods when I go home to eat :) Tonight we had my favorite pork kidney soup, chawanmushi, abalone mushrooms and this new thing – a really cool beancurd skin wrap.

That’s her making the wrap…

First she cuts the beancurd skin into squares and smears a bit of fishpaste on one corner. Then she lays a peeled prawn on top of the paste, and then a slice of slightly unripe mango on top of all that. Then she wraps the beancurd skin into a rectangle around it, sealing it with egg white…

Mmmm this is what it looks like after it gets all wrapped up, before it’s deep-fried..

Too bad no pictures of what it looked like after it gets fried – it got eaten up pretty fast – but it was a sort of warm crispy tasty brown. My mouth is watering thinking of it. It was a bit too salty cuz of the beancurd skin so Mom will have to think of a way to make it less salty next time…still, it was really good.

And this is Onn doing experiments on agar in the lab, for his FYP. I tell you, I have a whole new respect for engineering students :/ I feel like what I’m learning in school is complete bull compared to what they learn. Sniffle.

I just realized people are quite boring when they’re happy :/

It’s raining, there’s no 401 lecture today, and I’m going home for dinner!

I wonder why.
