Choir sang this as the anthem in service today, and I love love love this song even though at first I thought it was a bit weird.

The chords are amazing and the ‘alleluia’ part is just so heart-burstingly emotional. Thought evening choir was going to muck this up because we weren’t sounding too confident during rehearsal but somehow I felt everything fell into place during service and it sounded really good :)

It’s something that’s constantly on my mind - we’re so small and unimportant, each of us, but God knows us all and every single bit of our minds and hearts…it’s mind-boggling :)

Shaun found a vid of Sandi Patty singing it (solo) on YouTube…not the choral arrangement we sang but her being all diva-ish and all (I kinda prefer the choral version; you can find full choir as well as men’s choral arrangement on YouTube).

When I gaze into the night skies and see the work of Your fingers;
The moon and stars suspended in space
Oh, what is man that You are mindful of him?

You have given man a crown of glory and honor
and have made him a little lower than the angels
You have put him in charge of all creation
The beasts of the field, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea
But what is man, oh what is man
that You are mindful of him?

O Lord our God, the majesty and glory of Your name
transcends the earth and fills the heavens
O Lord our God, little children praise you perfectly
and so would we - and so would we.

Alleluia, alleluia, the majesty and glory of your name
Alleluia, alleluia, the majesty and glory of your name
Alleluia, alleluia!
