Heh this morning in office Ping was singing “Just Around the Riverbend” (as usual) and it inspired me to set a bunch of YouTube Disney videos playing in the background. Picked the more obscure songs from the more obscure Disney movies. Yet the scary thing is - I can sing them all by heart *blush*
“Just Around The Riverbend” from Pocahontas
“A Girl Worth Fighting For” from Mulan
“I Won’t Say I’m In Love” from Hercules
“Once Upon A December” from Anastasia
“Journey To The Past” from Anastasia
“God Help The Outcasts” from The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Yay!

So today was quite awful. I’m on a course of iron pills because I donated blood last Saturday (and have some horrific bruising around the site because of the location of my vein and because I went straight to clarinet practice after - the flexing and crooking of the elbow probably contributed), and yesterday when I took the pill I experienced some upper abdominal pain. Didn’t think anything of it at the time - I put it down to gastric - and after I had a bit of breakfast it went away. But this morning when I took the pill, the pain washed back within 10 minutes and it was truly awful. Despite having breakfast and continual munchies the pain was unending and really twingey :( and it was a busy day at work. Had to teach, had to film a video for new incoming boss, had to clear up Paris/London problems, had to go through my biannual work review with my reporting officer and then complete the entire stupid report. Bah. So I did all that while half hunched over in continuous pain, hugging Ping’s Piglet bolster to my tummy.
I figured it must have been the iron pills, and Google more or less confirmed it with many other people reporting nausea and stomach pain from taking iron pills. So I’m discontinuing the course; I really can’t be doing with this kind of pain all day, it was so bad! I’ll just eat a lot of spinach, or something.
So thankfully the light of my life my lovely man came through for me and took time out from his busy day to drive me home, because I simply couldn’t drag myself to walk to the bus stop 200m away and take public transport back. The best boyfriend in the world drove me home, tucked me into bed with a kiss and let himself out while I gratefully curled into bed with my squooshy pillow pressed into my tummy.
Woke up and felt tons better with homemade prawn mee sua from Mommy, homemade mango lassi, and tons of fresh guava and Chinese pear, cut for me by guess who Mommy.
I have the best loved ones in the world.

1. I’ve come to realise that I love : being part of a whole.
2. I’ve come to realise that I know : less than I think I do.
3. I’ve come to realise that I say: things that I don’t actually mean.
4. I’ve come to realise that I have: too much time from now to then.
5. I’ve come to realise that I have lost : my Marks and Spencer Fizzy Fish :(
6. I’ve come to realise that I hate : waking up bloody early.
7. I’ve come to realise that marriage is : something I want very much.
8. I’ve come to realise that the best : fishballs can be found right next to my office.
9. I’ve come to realise that I will always be : a little bit emo.
10. I’ve come to realise that love : is necessarily selfish
11 . I’ve come to realise that the last time I cried was : last night. Grey’s is a real tearjerker.
12. I’ve come to realise that when I wake up in the morning : the snooze button is too conveniently located next to my hand.
13. I’ve come to realise that before I go to sleep at night : I spend some time in prayer.
14. I’ve come to realise that right now : I should be doing my lesson plans.
15 . I’ve come to realise that babies : are difficult to buy plain onesies for.

Possibly the cutest shoes in the world.

From weddingbycolor
And no, these shoes are not anywhere to be bought for love or money. From a comment on the site: “I talked to the girl wearing the shoes in this picture. She said that she’s been getting many, many questions about the shoes and is sorry to say that they don’t make the shoes any more. They were a random pair that she found at TJ Maxx. She said she saw a similar pair at Ross, but it was a long time ago. Sorry folks. I was just as disappointed as you all are. If I find anything similar, I’ll let you all know, and all of you please do the same! Thank you!!”
Sadness!!
I love these shoes!

People keep bloody insisting that teachers have long bloody holidays. No matter how I insist I still have to bloody work. As if all our work is centered around teaching.
Well I tell you - all of you are bloody indisputably wrong.
Bloody hell why do you think the official term is Education Officers and not Teacher? Because teaching is just one small part of the job scope. There is so much bloody work to do.
#%@#@#$%@#$%^$^##!!$@#$@#%#$%
(insert foul words here)
And all I want to do is teach.

From Martha Stewart, God bless her tax-evading soul.

Serves 8
* 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
* 1/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
* 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold, cut into small cubes
* 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (not quick-cooking)
* 3 pounds apples, such as Empire, Gala, or Braeburn, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch chunks
* 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. Cut butter into flour, using a pastry blender or two knives, until mixture is the texture of coarse meal. Add oats, and use your hands to toss and squeeze mixture until large, moist clumps form. Transfer to freezer to chill while you prepare apples.
2. In another large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Transfer to a shallow 2-quart baking dish, and sprinkle with topping mixture. Place baking dish on a rimmed baking sheet, and bake until golden and bubbling, 55 to 65 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes before serving.

How strange it is that it only gets sweeter, that I yearn more everyday. How wonderful it is to see the emotion in your eyes. How bittersweet to part and part again.
I’ll miss you, love.
