Pei dan porridge with chicken

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

Cooked chicken porridge for Puppy today after much persuasion from Jo and Eddie :D who both could not believe I was actually contemplating tapao-ing porridge instead of making some sweet love porridge and hand-delivering (and spoon-feeding) to him. My weak excuse was that he’s already just recovering from a bout of viral fever from [...]

Butter chicken

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Neglected to take photos, but I cooked dinner today :) We had cheese omelet (Puppy made it) and simple stir-fried veggies and Indian butter chicken.
Despite some veggies I didn’t wash carefully enough *abashed* and a substitution of five-spice for garam masala powder, I think it wasn’t too bad :) I quite liked my [...]

Chocolate Banana ice-cream without an ice-cream maker

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

I made the chocolate ice cream today after my hands got to itching for some cookin’!
The banana turned out to be a biiiiit too much - I could probably have gotten away with using just half a banana or maybe two-thirds - but the sweetness of the banana nicely balances out the bittersweetness of the [...]

Oh I am having fun with the kitchen all to myself these two weeks and whipping up simple food for my family :)
Today I made fried miso macaroni with deep-fried luncheon meat cubes (mother would never approve), mixed veg, mushrooms, onion, and little fishcake cubes. Yesterday was Hokkien-style mee with chye sim and minced [...]
